Ok, fine, it might be a little lame, but I think that the relative insignificance of the discovery pales in comparison to (my) shock that something that large could be unknown this day and age.

It is kind of a big thing---how often are new things discovered on earth? Yeah, the waterfall is kinda wimpy, but considering articles are written about boyscout parades and crap like that, it's worthy of a newspaper article.
Americans aren't known for being the most observant folks.
What is this? Out of some 80's soap opera? Grizzly Gulch? Whiskeytown?
And honestly, unless this is a new spring that popped up, that's pouring into a cave...didn't anyone notice the...the river...? Maybe the stream?...Maybe the whole "hey, where's all this water come from"?
