Are Warez(Softwarez Piracy) Really That Bad

People make six digit salaries using Adobe Photoshop, $600 is a fair price to pay for something that is going to make you millions. The product isn't meant for 15 year old computer nerds who want to make signatures on computer tech websites, the software is meant for huge companies who need a good looking logo or ad. Take a look around, I bet over 60% of the ads you see every day, whether on TV or in town, are built from Photoshop.

Pirating software, well, I can honestly say that I don't want to pay for it. I'm really scared for hardcore pirates, because if MS does the piracy act, and enables the government to go into your personal computer any time they feel fit, there will be MANY people being sued and even going to prison.

Right now I probably have anywhere from five to eight thousand dollars worth of warez on my computer. That includes my three operating systems, all my games, Photoshop, Premiere, and many many other applications.

Oh well, by the time Longhorn comes out I'll be well on my way with a well paying job and enough money to afford the software I want.

I'm not going to sit here and say that I would buy the software if I had the money, because I probably wouldn't. People are going to continue to do stuff that they can get away with. When they learn that the government is peaking around inside their computers, they will probably stop. It's the same thing with everything else, look how fast shop lifting dropped when those magnet things were placed near the doors.

I will say though, that yes, warez is wrong, and yes, I do warez. I'm sure all of you on this website have had some form of pirated software on all of your computers at some time or another, if not software, music or movies. Hell, back when Napster was starting out my mom was one of the first people to have it, we downloaded hundreds of songs within the first three hours. She had no idea then that what she was doing was wrong. And now, when I go to download something it doesn't even cross my mind that I am doing something illegal.

If they want us to stop they need to take action, not sit in their fancy leather chairs, smoke Cuban cigars and discuss it.

Hehe, thinking of removable drives, my Western Digital USB 2.0 80GB drive has really shown me how useful a portable drive can be. I go to my friends house who has a 4Mbps and download a shitload to my portable drive overnight, then the next day before I leave I unplug it. Whew, thank god it's USB 2.0 though. The other day I had to copy around 2GB to my laptop through regular USB and it took longer than 15 minutes, I say that because after 15 minutes I left to go watch TV. While on USB 2.0 2GB is less than a minute.

so u just plug it in to usb and then its automatically hooked up ??

can u get like a 10 gb removable drive eg just for songs n stuff?

"I go to my friends house who has a 4Mbps"

bandage boy...what type of internet does ur friend have? T3??

No do this.

Buy a 80gb hard drive ($80) then get a hotswitch bay ($10). You plug the hard drive into it then then it slides into a expansion bay. Works better and cheaper. Thats what we do atleast.

Plus it requires a key so not anyone can use it. They need the key.

This is the way to do it.

Have your drive in bay DL or using programs.

Going to your friends house, done DL, or anything. Use the key to unlock the drive.

The drive WILL NOT work if you dont lock/unlock it.

After you unlock it remove the drive

Then you just leave the bay empty

Then you just carry arund the drive. Has a handle too.

I love it because I got like 4-5 extra hard drives. I got stuff on there that I donÂ’t want people to see or know I have (music, programs, porn :) etc) so I keep them in these bays. So if the RIA scans my computer they see that i have ZERO songs. Or if MS has to government do it I have ZERO pirated software. It works like a charm.
