hehe I cant wait to get my 5500's But then I gotta save up for a soundcard, but its a HUGE step up from these creative insipre T3000 2.1's..

I love the z5500's. I use them for my PC, Cable TV and my Game Consoles. 3 in One uses... plus they sound incredible... HUge Subwoof.... don't put it near your PC...

Windows volume: 85%
Winamp volume: 5%
Headphones: all the way down

This is what I use during the day, just some very low volume background music.
When I really listen to music I turn up the Winamp and Headphones inline volume control both to 100%. I have the Sennheiser PC-150 headphones which barely distorts, even at maximum volume.

For gaming I leave everything on low, and sometimes even lower the ingame volume.

My X-Fi is set to 65%, my X-530's at about 50-60%, with the woofer at 75%, and WMP is at 45%.

Depend on what I am doing.

Most of the time, it Med-High. However if I am listing to this week's ASOT episode, I crank it all the way up.
