VLC media player

Hello. For some reason..in certain instances..the 'activity' bar at the bottom of the player window...disappears to a large degree and it makes it hard to start or stop the playing of the video.

Any way of preventing that from happening?

Are you in Full Screen mode or just maximized? When in Full Screen mode, the tracking bar, play/pause/etc. buttons all autohide so they do not interfere with the video being played.

Usually most media players have a hotkey you can use on your keyboard. For instance, MPC is spacebar to pause and play. Either that, or flick your mouse to bring it back up to hit pause as all media players are designed to do this in full screen mode.
