there are after christmas sales but we don't call it or celebrate 'boxing day' like canada and I guess australia does and wherever else does.

I guess celebrate is the wrong word, but rather no one acknowledges it. Ask an american what boxing day is and most wouldn't know. You look at a calender and it'll say "Canada: Boxing day"

Myself and my family are not "too strict" on giving our gifts right on Christmas day.. hehe.. For family members, obviously we usually tend to be big purchases, so buying them on boxing day, you save a lot of $$ .
