Okay I know someone will say I should be thankful, but I payed a site to be able and download music and now (it has been a long time ago) I can't download music from anywhere. I desperately tried Bearshare, Kazaa, Morpheus, Ares and WinMx and I am unable to connect to any of them! Not to mention getting rid of the all the garbage that came with them. But back to my problem, I have no problem connecting to the internet . Any ideas out there??

I had this same problem. I think I just removed my spyware and adware and it worked. If removing spyware and adware does not work, then search on google (P2P Connection Help)

If you still have Kazaa, I must warn you; PLEASE GET THAT SH**** OUT OF YOUR COMPUTER!! That thing is FULL of Addware from GAIN! (Kind of like AOL..?) IÂ’m telling you! That thing will wear down your computer until it canÂ’t ware down your computer anymore!! It will drain any amount of speed your computer currently possesses until it CRASHES your computer! ThatÂ’s why GAIN is currently being sued because of the things it did to others! Please dump that sh***!!!:cool:

more info

I have spybot and adaware and norton which are all up to date. plus I run Panda scan, trend house call, rayantivirus and bitdefender all online regularly. kazaa and its trash are gone. I took care of that as soon as I decided none of it would work. I may have to try the google search. I am not totally new to the problems lurking on the internet but this one has me stumped. Anymore input would be great. And I appreciate the help. In the meantime I will try searching for another answer. Oh, and about the same time I quit being able to connect to excite chat. Wonder if there is a connection between the two problems? Thanks again

"Jacked up PC...."

IÂ’m almost completely convinced that this is the work of hackers. Not that they are in your computer now, but theyÂ’re able to do some strange stuff like that with Windows. :cool:

growwwlll

Well you may very well be right. I have been on many forums and help sites and can't get any real help on this. I have found some posts from a few others with the same problem but they didnt get a problem solviing answer either. I had a hijacker thing going on a while back with something called wintools which was a total pain, seems like thats when I started the trouble then a trojan called win32 adsomethingsomthing, I forget the name, which I could never really find but seemed to have gotten rid of. The only thing that puzzles me is spybot each time I run it says possible extension hijack and I have no idea what to do with that. Rambling is getting me nowhere but thought it might jog someones mind lol.

I do not have a firewall that I am aware of. Here is the hijacklog. Logfile of HijackThis v1.98.0

This is the message that spybots&d gives me everytime I run it. Possible extension hijack: Default command file handler (Registry change)
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\cmdfile\shell\open\command\!="%1" %*

Regcleaner shows some things on the registry that I don/t recognize but that nots surprising. Thanks for looking at this .

Unneccesary. Use a program called "Diet K". It completely gets rid of all ad-ware/spyware that comes along with Kazaa. It also has some pretty nifty customization features aswell. I have it, use it, and have no problem with Kazaa anymore.

Oh and it also has unlimited search option. It's one of the best most reliable FREE programs I've used in a while.
