Tv volume

I have a flat screen tv with av/component out port for video and sound. I would like to know if the volume control on the tv controls the volume from this port or not. Thanks for any help.

if the sound is coming out of the tv speakers then the volume control on the tv will control it

If you take that output and plug it into a reciever or somethign for surround sound. No. The reciever remote will control the volume. Only the remote for the TV will control the volume comign from the TV not any other device.

Unless of course you have a multi functional remote that you can program to control other devices and have that remote control the reciever as well.

Thanks. I tried programming my dvr remote to control the sound system with no luck. I just didn't want to have 2 remotes if possible.

Logitech and Kamaleon do great remotes.

Yea. Picked up a logitech 550. So far its great. Works with everything.
