How can you get traffic on your website?

I am having the same problem as you. I am trying to get a Pocketbike forum going. I bought a domain, and I have a dedicated server with dual CPU's running in my bedroom. The best thing you can do is sumbit your site to alot search engines. It takes like 3-5 weeks to include it on a search tho.

I just enrolled in google adsense. So hopefully google will include it.....

Also are you hosting that site yourself? or do you have a hosting provider?

content is a big plus, more stuff for search engines to pickup. you could also use chatrooms and forums sigs for advertising

Yeah, good 'ol forum sigs. I did a Poll, and around 40% of users learned about Techworld through forum Sig Adversitement. Ive Signed up on Google. How do i sign up on Yahoo, Altavista etc?

I got in running on a

Dual PII's @ 350mhz each.
128mb Ram SD-100
4.6gb 10,000rpm SCSI

I have a 5.5mbit download and only a 320kbit upload. My ISP blocks port 80, so I did masked forwarding to port 81.
