Default That's It, I Am Gone! I Am Outta Here!

....for the next few days.

My NetGear DG834G Router is playing up on me. So I am sending it for RMA tomorrow because it's not likely that I will be needing it for the next few days.

It got me excited,

Router problems are a pain, that's for sure. Hopefully you'll be back up and running soon.

Those basic SOHO router never really mount to anything, you should just grab an old POS computer lying around, slap a couple of NICs and use pfsense or SmoothWall. I remember I never had to power this thing down for months.

But for a good SOHO router, the Linksys WRT54GL are pretty stable and even better with DD-WRT firmware. But the Buffalo WHR-G54S is less expensive and much better when using DD-WRT.

Got plenty of POS computer around here. however I really don't want to add another computer to the power bill.

Bad enough as it with the torrent box being left on 24/7.
And the media centre being left on doing nothing for about 10 hours each night.

Not very fond of the Linksys. I have some support issues with them down here. And I have gone onsite too many time to replace them with a NetGear.

Over all the problem with my router is not too bad. It's just the Wireless Access Point not working. (or working when it feels like it).

About the only Wireless Device that I have currently running is my PSP. However I would like to see about making my media centre and torrent box wireless.
