I can change my IP as well as most people. You can even change ranges. Before i went on vacation i was in the 69.XXX.XXX.XXX range's. Now i dont have an l33t IP and it's 65.XXX.XXX.XXX

Most cable ISPs give out IP addresses that are "dynamically static." They are automatically assigned via DHCP and will remain unchanged if the connection is used on a daily basis, however, if they are left unused for a certain period of time, it is reassigned to another customer.
