This saw is really high tech. Its a table saw, like a regular circular saw but it can detect when a finger or arm or leg or sausage in the video touches the blade and retracts the blade within 3-5ms (1/200th of a second) to stop injury. What results is a slight nick in your skin if you touch it, not much more than a kitchen knife cut or standing on a piece of glass. On a regular saw you would chop off one of your fingers if it was in the wrong place, but with this you would get a tiny cut and the saw would retract and stop.
