Really need help.....

Ok let me explain my situation....I'm quit a pro gamer at a certain game, but when it comes to computers I'm useless and Daft.....

I'm 16 and about 2 months ago I had to get my brother to reformat my computer because I was having to many problems and spyware.

I found it a bit odd when he said he wouldn't do it unless I was out the room.

A few weeks ago we got into a fight, and unfortunately it's had my age admitting you have a different sexual preference to most people. I had found out later the reason he had kicked em out the room was so that (we have dsl shared network cable thing) he had installed countless amounts of spywar and programs that let him basically have more control then me.

I know that some of these programs were "netbus" "onlineeyes" because tonight I broke into his room and surprise they were on his comp.

One day during that fight he had come downstairs and caught lets say....my type of porn.. Except for the fact it had been deleted by me, THANK GOD the day before i went to a LAN gathering....

But he had obviously been yelling about my secrets and private things i had expressed to people over the internet.

I was horribly depressed for the next few days, and I admit I was even crying a bit for what he had done and said, not only to my family, but to my own ****ing friends. as my own brother was pretty much tormenting me with everything I had ever said provately to people on the internet.

I managed to find some of the programs on my computer and get rid of them. But I still feel really uncomfortable even trying things now..

I am desperately asking anyone here to help my situation and if their is anything to detect something that isnt normal...

Would be really appreciated....thanks guys. ANd I also want to know if what he did was Illegal because **** yes I will sue him if I can ...I'm thinking personally along the lines of defamation...and for hte last 2 weeks i've been really unstable and anxious. I'm a bit paranoid he can see everything I can do.

your situation is very humourous and at the same time very tempting (if I keep myself into younger position, despite the fact that am as wll eldest n my family ), but at least I never did to my brothers, I have made that much friendly relations with them that they come and show me what thay have been doing on their PC's . Although I dont do that porn stuff on internet, but have never forbade anyone even, as its their own life (for which I am not responsible) and humiliating someone on the basis of this thing that they watch porn (one should as well see one's past)

all I can help you in this matter is, if you are in around London area, then I can configure your PC for you + add a windows Log-on password so that he wont be able to access your PC and install his own programs .

I come from a family with 5 siblings blind, and I'm aus...

My brothers always been nothing but a spoilt brat, he doesn't want to get a job (btw his like 22 or something)

I get on very well with my older sister, and so-so with my 2 younger sisters who are twins.

I have a boot password to log on, and a second one, but it makes no difference...because he gets access once I actually get into windows =[ Rendering the two passwords.....

hmm, your parents arent helping you around? this may be the possoible reason of showing bad attitude as to let you down in front of anyone, as now you are doing well in studies and he didnt.

situations like these force people getting mentally pressurised and resulting in negative results. as I cannot help you out in this matter, but will only suggest that remain calm, cause (as u told) his intentions just looks like to divert you from your path of sucess (how bad is he). get him involved into some real good gal , which'll act as a remote contorl for your brother. and he'll surely change.

anyway, I'm sure someone having smilar ecperience will help you out in this matter, but this is somewhat seen in 10% of homes, as if u think u r alone, you arent.

Never had a close relationship with my p's, but I still respect them for they do try...they're just shocking at parenting. But 5 kids =stressing so...

And my brother "amazingly" has a girlfriend, she's pretty good at controlling him...but she's not here most of the time so.

First thing I would do is have a friend you trust to reformat the system so that all of the spyware (along with everything else) is removed. When reformated, create a new boot password (BIOS password), create your account password, and in addition be sure the Administrator account (boot into safe mode to set it) is password protected. No accounts without passwords. No guest account. All passwords should be "unguessable", and have numbers and characters in them. And if being already logged in is a problem as you said, what you can do is lock your computer when you're leaving temporarily. In XP you can hit the "windows key" and L at the same time to switch to the logon screen (if that doesn't work for some reason start>log off>switch user does the same thing). That way you have to re-enter your password when you want to use the machine.


If you want to password protect the actual files you want to be unfindable to your brother, try downloading this encryption program. It's the only free encryption program I can name on the spot, but if you have problems with it I can possibly do a bit more research.
