Most people are on there for hookups, yes, but first and foremost it's still a dating site looking for dates of "similar interest". He's just butthurt cause he didn't get laid, and to bitch about a small amount over coffee....... In my early dating days I'd spend a couple hundred and not bitch about it.

By early days I mean pre-20s, not early days of dating somebody in particular. I had no issue with spending a decent amount of money on a proper dinner rather than going to "chill" and expecting a hookup. Then again, that's a gentleman way, not what pop culture and the ****ty current gen considers dating. Tinder is for dating and social interaction, not hookups. Pop culture turned it into hookups as you've proven twice, but this lady in the article apparently shows that some people use it to find proper dates.
