Hello everyone! I am new to this forum. I am excited to start participating in it. I have just graduated and have found an entry level job that I have started to get me in the IT field. I love the job thus far but now I have a question about my title. Not that the title matters to me (it being an entry level position) but I have to add a signature on my work email with my position title/LinkedIn account/ updated resume. Now I was hired as an IT support technician (which I assumed was my title) but I was introduced through email to all of the staff as an IT Support Specialist. I was also given a list of what is expected of me, but on the top of the list it was titled “IT Support Specialist”. So the question is, what title should I use as a signature? What title will help me out in the long run to excel in my career? I am looking forward to hearing everyone's input. Thank you! :)

I would use the title your employer assigns to your position. "IT Support Technician" and "IT Support Specialist" are very interchangeable terms anyway so it won't matter in the long term and neither will advance your career more than the other.

You need to speak to HR to clarify, they will have a designated official title for you in their "system" (HR loves to call everything IT related the "system" from my experience lol).
