problems updating my avatar.. please help

I am trying to change my avatar and it wont work.

i am using the "browse" option and selecting the file.

i have tried to use 2 different images:

1:
pxl size: 80x80
size on disk: 4.00 KB (4,096 bytes)
size: 3.25 KB (3,331 bytes)

2:
pxl size: 70x70
size on disk: 4.00 KB (4,096 bytes)
size: 2.91 KB (2,985 bytes)

neither images will upload.

what can I do?

could the problem be the dpi?

the dpi is 96x96 for both images.


is also just noticed that the "size on disk" for both of the images are the same. but image 2 is 10x10 pixles smaller than img1.

p.s. i have tried the files as: jpegs and gif's

Where are you uploading from? Photobucket, imageshack...

the same thing happened to me. what happened in my case was after i hit update avatar, then browsed my pc for the image and selected ok, the "yes" radio button above the "use custom avatar" title became unselected .. i simply clicked on yes again and it uploaded fine.

Same situation as Sunsider here. It took a few tries, but I finally got it.

Now I just need a decent sig.

The problem is that the page sets the "yes" radio button to 'deselected' after you press the “browse” button. Since I never checked/noticed the radio button’s condition before clicking “submit modifications” the page just saw that I had a ‘default avatar’ “checked” and moved on with life before it got to my “browse”ed option.

I could be wrong, but that might be a programming error with the page.
