Potentially the longest thread in history...

I agree, I prefer nVidia cards over the AMD's. But You have to see that AMD is making attempts to compete. Their latest is priced @ $699.

I saw an nVidia card somewhere recently and noticed it was over $1K, didn't pay much attention to it because it was way out of my price league

Edit: it was a 2080ti card @ $1,199.

I've been putting off upgrading my GPU for so long at this point it's silly. I got my GTX970 in what, 2014/2015? It was about £280.

For the equivalent card in current gen (RTX2070), I'm looking at more like £450-550! I'd rather spend that amount of money on something like a PS4 Pro.

I might wait and end up getting an RTX2060 when they're released, as I tend to prefer the mid-high-end tier of cards (I prefer quiet and bang for buck).

If they wanted to compete they wouldn't have rebadged an MI50 and priced the same as a 2080 for less performance. They could have at least priced it 100 less and then people might be interested. The card in un-cherry picked scenarios will perform worse than a 2080 for the same cost which is just them shooting themselves in the foot. If they actually made a new card putting Vega 20 and paired it with GDDR6...wait they can't lol. AMD is useless until Navi and even that's a bucket of salt situation since Navi appears to be focused for consoles first and PC second.

Oi PP and other Texas residents

I saw this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z2wY_NKNFqM

The description says 3" Texas Wolf Spider.

How often do you see scary huge *** spiders like this ? I wanna travel to the US but if I am likely to encounter anything like this then nope. If it's rare then i'll take the chance.

Wolf spiders are everywhere in the US pretty much. Have seen 'em that big up here as well. They usually only get that big if they're in an area with a lot of food (e.g. drafty houses).
