Potentially the longest thread in history...

Recently had an opportunity to become a Cloud Support Specialist for AWS (which I bombed due to idiocy). That would have started at 6 figures.

The money is nice but working for AWS sounds like a lot of hard work and stress. I've realised I prefer about a 50% workload. 4 out of 8 hours at work being busy suits me.

Honestly everything on their assessment seemed easy af and that was a mixture L1 to L5 support. The Sr Engineer which was my foot in told me all about it. I just took it with 2 hours of sleep and a lot of emotional distress which made me miss a lot of easy questions. The virtual work environment was cake though.

Fair. Its been so long I had any technical IT work i cant remember anything. I think id fail the questions for a junior role these days.

Man, could I have called it any better? Turing SM core = Paxwell. Sigh. These *******s are really riding that RT train too hard.

Wellllllllllllll you also said Turing will run really hot but the FE card is the coolest running Nvidia FE card ever according to tomshardware ;)

They're pretty ****ty anyway. DLSS is cool though, seems good. I do love that we are moving towards ray tracing. The Metro 6min video from yesterday looks great. But noway I am buying a 2080Ti to play it at 1080P 30FPS. Let me know when I can ray trace at 4K...

You're going to listen to that embarrassment of a publication LOL. Toms has been all but discredited by all other tech journalism because their editor in chief is a ****ing moron.

Also, of course when you slap a giant heavy vapor chamber with 2 fans on a chip rather than a tiny chunk of heatsink it'll run cooler BUT J2C said his ran up to 80ish on an open bench on stock curve. In a case during gaming that'll be hitting 84c throttle limit like the rest. Meaning even with all that extra beef for cooling it still gets just as warm telling the tale that the chip does run hotter. TDP and power consumptions don't lie. It's only a hair shy of consumption behind the Vega64 during peak gaming.

Dat true. Roll on 7nm.

Got a whole lot of small jobs done this week that've made a huge difference overall! Hung my projector screen on the wall instead of duct taping it there, installed a dog door so I don't have to leave the back door open all day, leveled the oven and fridge so **** doesn't run to one side of the pan and the fridge door closes automatically if you leave it open, ahhhhhh feelsgoodman.

Can't wait for the weekend to hit now, friday we're going bowling for 'team building' :p free lunch and half day heck, I'll do whatever ya want! Then after that we'll do some real team building at the pub hehe

It's also TACO THURSDAY today!!! *fiesta* $2 buttermilk chicken tacos, can't lose :D started off months ago with me asking a few ppl if they wanted anything, now I have a full google sheets ordering process shared with the restaurant xD record is 82 tacos so far
