Nah you'll be fine quite a few Americans in London. As long as don't come across as super religious (technically UK is a Christian country.. but yeah... not really, I don't know anyone who actively practices). Or extremist views like anti-gay, anti-abortion. From what I can tell the UK is generally more liberal/progressive with it's world views. Though I think states like California are pretty much the same ?

If you walk into a bar and say "Hi! I go to church every Sunday, I hate gays and abortion should be illegal" yeah that might not go down too well. But at the same time British people are subdued so they'll just turn away from you and mumble passive aggressive words at you. But you may get some loudmouth London cockney prick who might just punch you in the face.
