^thats what i said mate. Contrast ratios do very some what between brands (but not a major difference, they are generaly in the same ball park. A 800:1 may be more like a 1400:1 for other monitors, but it's not going to be like a 3000:1, there is not that much of a difference in their measurment systems) but dynamic, like i said, you should not go by, because you will see monitors with a 800:1 contrast ratio, but it also has a 10000:1 dynamic.
lol ok then how do i determine if it really is darker or not compared to the next monitor or HDTV? Easy, use the monitor or HDTV in the dark.
3,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio sounds amazing on that one LED TV from Samsung. Couldnt tell a differ with lights on though.
