Your missing the point. When an attorney questions you in court he already knows the answers to the questions, the goal is to get you on record saying it. As for him saying the answer while asking the question that is probably habit from working with clients who are making up a story.

Could be a double bluff aswell atorney wants the guy to slip up and lie on record thus invalidating the statement of the witness and possibly leading to action against the witness for contempt of court.
