They just didn't tighten the nuts correctly or maybe they were dodgy ones you put quite a lot of pressure on them when turning. If one of the wheel nuts was a bit dodgy and the rest werent completely tight the wheel can easily fall off that then puts more pressure on the rest and like a chain effect they all go. Whether it was them or another team that loosened the nuts is up for debate at those kind of events other teams generally don't fraternise round the car enough for someone to do something like that. Maybe American motocross events are set up differently to UK ones
