Potentially the longest thread in history...

OKAY TIME TO BREAK THE CHAIN!

I've been watching a lot of movies lately and i've been wondering...i know it's stupid...but: can you encode regular movies (like .avi format) to 1080p or whatever other "hd" formats? I am almost positive you can do that...if you can, how? i would like to eventually do this...(asked here because it's totally freaking random lol)

but back to the topic of the off topic-ness:

i've never had dominos before, none in my area :( but i'll eat almost any pizza as long as it's thin/thin-ish crust...can't stand the 2inch crust stuff...and i like a lot of meat on it

heck no.

Thats called upscaling which is what a dvd does already when its played on a 1080p screen and it looks like crud. Or when you game on 1280x1024 on a native 1680x1050 screen...thats upscaling too.

The end result is not true hd.

I never really cared about the quality until I got an HDTV of my own. Now everything not in at least 720i I can't bare to watch.

it does make a super difference i must say.. but upconverting dvd players do work extremely well..

and i had a great calazone the other night. it was spinach, feta, onions, mushrooms, meatballs, and mozzarella cheese melted over the top. it was super yummy :)
