I'd definitely prefer cigars over pipes or cigarettes; I'll have one every three or four weeks with my mates. When I want to relax they're great, when I was in Europe I usually took one down to a forest or river and just spent a while sitting.
I'd mainly never get into regularly smoking cigarettes/pipes because of the negative effect they have on your lungs/mouth/teeth. That, and there are much much better things to smoke than the addictive brown cancer causing stuff that is tobacco
