Topics that were brought up made me check my Newegg history and brought on some serious PC nostalgia for me.

These 2 items were the first brand new PC parts I had ever bought, with the money I got from what was technically my "first job".

I had purchased items before but it was either used from somebody on here, or a friend, or used my moms Paypal, or whatever. 8800GS to the 9800GTX+ was a nice big jump, as was the move from 939 to AM2.

Anybody else?

I don't remember why I didn't have this right away, but this was the first GPU I ordered. I think I had one to use that ended up dying, so I bought this one to replace it? Sounds about right.

Didn't know we were doing pics rofl. Unfortunately, my purchases off Newegg before I got that job and my own bank account was done with my moms Paypal and Newegg account. So no history, but I did have that same Corsair kit, with a 3000+ and a few DFI boards. Eventually getting a 2GB G.Skill kit for 300 bucks when BF2 came out. Ouch.
Before that everything was bought from Fry's. Took me 2 years to get my parents over their online buying paranoia.

My first self-built PC's parts were all bought from individuals, and all my original upgrades for my older rig were bought local or piecemeal from various sites. :/

Would post my exact order but I was like 13 when I ordered my first PC build/parts. Naturally, it was ordered under my dads account.

First PC I had was a hand down from my dads old PC. Pentium 3 733Mhz, it seemed crap even at the time.

Then my dad introduced me to games and soon after that he bought me an ATI 9600Pro. Check out the heatsink!

Lol!

Then my first personal purchase using birthday money or something was a ATI X1950XT, that thing was a beast, IIRC it pretty much max'd out CoD2 at the time which was a good improvement over the 9600. I remember playing the el_alameine map and boasting about my GPU :D

After that it gets a bit sketchy on the order of things. Think I went to an 8800GTS 320MB, my dad got the 8800GT single slot width and I was pretty damn jealous of how thin it was (atl least I think, unless I am imagining it) then came my trusty ATI 4870. We're getting pretty recent so i'll stop their :p

CPUs I had were an Athlon X2 4200, seemed great at the time. Then I got a Intel E6850. I remember trying to decide, Q6600 or E6850. Games barely supported quad at the time so 6850 it was. Then I went with the Q9550, and now my i7 2600.

My upgrade path is way too long to list so I'm not going to. It would be easier to list most all of the components I've had rather than paths.

You could max out CoD2 on a 9800XT rather easily. I know I did in DX9 mode.
