The point is he recorded an explicit video of a minor and then posted it online. While he might not be tried as an adult, it is certainly against the law.

Maybe in the U.S..

But I know that just a few years back you could legally do adult media at the age of 16 in the UK.
I would assume the U.K. still has laws in effect that prohibit the public posting of adult material without consent.

In all actuality, your friend should call the local authority's about the matter. If there is no more proof of the video being posted she may be S.O.L. :(

Oh, Oreo is in England.

Disregard everything I said.

You'll probably be able to get something out of the child porn thing, but I can't comment on the UK judicial system.

If they are both under 18 then they can BOTH get in trouble. If her bf wants to get revenge do whats best under 18. Beat the ex's ***. No, im not kidding. Becasue if the police where to get involved she would probably get in as much trouble by her parents as the ex would by law. Also, by the time he turns 18 his juvenile record would be erased so it wouldnt matter anyways. Its equaly as much her fault for doing it, as it is his fault for being an immature *** and uploading it to Youtube. So her current bf should be questioning why shes doing that at 15 anyways (or younger since you didnt mention when these actualy happend) as much as trying to get revenge on the ex. Under these circumstances the current bf may be ****ed but its really not any of his business.

Another thing, if they where to actualy bring in the police i bet some Drs will be brought up and if the current bf has had any current sexual relations with his gf then he will be brought into court as well for having sex with a minor. When the law comes in, there are MANY things to take into account for. Been there, done that, 18+ ftw.

General accounts of UK law as I understand it you can charge him on:
Illegal to post something without someones consent online involving sexual content and I believe its in general aswell.
Illegal to post sexual activities involving minors which in the UK is anyone under 18 as anyone over it would be classed as p0rn and anyone under is illegal home movies
If he is 16 you can prosecute for having sex with a minor if she is under 16
Your friend may be caught up for having sex with a minor ofcourse this is dependent on whether they have and if he lies, he can be charged with contempt of court.

What an idiot exbf's can be :) but I don't think its worth legal action and possibly ruining this guys life (through throwing him in juve and giving him sentences he would need to admit for the rest of his life) for such a childish mistake in your teen years. Yes he's an idiotic bstard but weren't we all when young, I know I have made some stupid mistakes working on hormones and shortsightedness rather then in an adult fashion. Your friends gf is also an idiot for letting him have this material, she was shortsighted for not deleting it before they broke up.

Not only is it considered child pr0nography, i believe she might be able to sue for defamation of character, as it was posted with malicious intent. It would certainly put a mark on his record that would raise questions later on in life as to getting jobs ect...

i dunno if anything can be done to be honest, they are both underage. And it's partly her fault...she shouldn't be doing anything at the age of 15 that's bad enough to get a youtube ban :|

It's not quite like that, this sicko forced her to do it for something to watch on holiday 6 months back.

I'm speaking to her and her current boyfriend later tonight, to find out what there going to do.

Thanks for your help.

Yes but that is here-say. THere is no evidence to show that he forced her unless she is crying or physically distraught during the act.
