yeah, a lot of times when I'm writing something new, I'll make maybe 2-4 variations of it until I decide on which one is the best one in my mind.
If I show it to other people, I make sure to say "yeah, I was playing around with this, and I made a different couple variations of the same thing, not sure which one I like better yet though"
or something like that, not try to pass it off as two different songs.
