Teacher jailed for sex with five boys
A high-school teacher from Hobart has been sentenced to four years in jail after pleading guilty to having sex with five teenage boys.
Three of the five youths were students at Rose Bay High School, where Sarah Jayne Vercoe was a science teacher.
Vercoe, 25, pleaded guilty to 11 counts of having sex with boys under the age of 17 and three counts of indecent assault.
Vercoe had sex with the boys in a period between December last year and April this year.
Her defence counsel had told the court that personal troubles led to the offences.
She said Vercoe's marriage was falling apart and she felt ostracised by her fellow teachers. The court heard Vercoe felt like a failure to her family and that her self-esteem dropped further after the offences.
But Crown prosecutor Madeline Wilson had told the court that Vercoe acted in a predatory manner and had broken the trust that exists between a student and a teacher.
She said Vercoe had lured the four boys to her house for group sex after offering them a lift home from a basketball game and that she had sent regular text messages to another victim champion.
Vercoe will be eligible for parole after two years.
Now this is technically rape and whatnot but my question is how can a chick rape four guys. With one maybe she straps him down and force feeds him viagra, but four could easily overpower her.
Quite frankly i reckon these guys scored twice. They got to root this chick (i'll admit she's not the bomb but she's alright) and then they get famous for saying she molested them and on top of that they will prob claim some compo. So basically they got laid, got famous and got rich.
personally i dont think what the teacher did was right. It would be alright if it wasnt their teacher, just some random 25 yr old chick, but it being their teacher who parents and the such entrust the care of their children is quite rong.
