For wine you may want to have something sweet and low in alcohol. I'm not a drinker but I'm sure a few patrons of tech forums could tell you lots about different types of Wine as well as which ones are sweet to the palate. Also be sure to mention what you're taking to eat on this picnic as the food you eat usually changes the way a wine taste, it's why wine and cheese go so good together. Some foods make wine taste sweeter while others make wine taste sour or bitter.
