need help with algerbra

can anyone show me in the simplist way possible how to do anything in algerbra apart from balancing equations cuz iv sussed that. ive got my GCSE exam in bout 9 days n i cant find jack anywhere...help!?!?!?!??!?!

When did Tech Forums become Algrebra Forum. Could people please get there post count up beyond 1 before asking these types of questions via a new thread in the off topic forum.

If you think trig is useless knowledge, try going to college, and taking Calculus I, II, and III, and Differential Equations. Those 4 classes were a complete waste of my time, because the only time I ever used them again was for other classes.

how to unFOIL, you use what's called Sum and Product factorisation

if you had
x^2 - 6x + 8

the sum is -6
the product is 8

you find 2 numbers that when added make -6, and when multiplied make 8, in this case -2 and -4

you just put those numbers in brackets after X's
(pronumeral + 1stnumber) (pronumeral + 2ndnumber)
=(x - 2) (x - 4)

then unfactorising it:
x*x + -2x + -4x + 8
=x^2 -6x +8

There are soooo many topics that you can cover when studying algebra, which is why people spend years mastering it. There is no way that we can put every single topic in here. However, I would suggest searching Yahooligans. They have many algebra tutorials and quizzes.

Ick....... algebra, such a long time ago for me, and I had an extreme amount of trouble learning it. Nowadays I seem to only be able to do complex math (e.g. Calculus) with ease.
