According to BBC, China had publicly condemned the test. The White House has called for the UN security council to take swift action. Other than the Korean war of the 50's, Has America, or any other western country been involved with N. Korea?
I prefer FOX news over any other, and that is because Im a conservative. That said...I'm not really scared. I broke my arms, back, and feet in an accident. Im the only son of a farmer, and the only living male left to carry my family name. Should the draft come back, I don't know that I would hesitate for one minute. I don't think they would draft me, personally, but I don't know that I wouldn't volunteer, much to the dismay of my family.
I agree, we are stretched dangerously thin. I agree, America is not the only ones able to solve problems in the world. Im not saying we should have been roaming around solving anything, but what's done is done. I am saying that if anyother country wants to step up, well, come on then, step up.....and get it done.
I don't think this will bust out into war....but agressions will definatly escalate. More than they already have. The sane nations of the world, who have nuclear weapons, are scared to death to use them. I guess N. Korea has kinda been a thorn in the side of the US for 50 years now.
It was not China's direct intervention that pushed the US back in the 50's, it was the UN and US Military Upper brass calling our troops back. That was the start of America's policy of containment of communisim. China did not "officially" have troops in N. Korea( I don't think...not sure on that one) but I know they did provide weapons and material to the N. Korean Army.
