i used to have a green laser that could pop balloons but my parents made me sell it it was fun while i had it. it would heat your skin up pretty fast if you put it on your arm or something, but it was fun while it lasted.

well I read something somewhere, that beyond a certain Mili watt rating such devices can longer be classified as "laser pointers" by the FCC. Or some organization...

A laser beam is already about as focused as it'll ever get. Passing it through a magnifying glass probly wouldn't do much of anything.

Actually many high powered lasers need to be focused when they are pointed far away. The point is too big and not focused. There are some $100 ones that can pop balloons. I have a 20mw green laser i got for 30 bucks. Its pretty fun to play with.
