Technically speaking it's a 'word' that was brought about by bad grammar. It breaks the rules of the english language. But then again, half the words in 'American English' just HAVE to be different now don't they ;) :p

That's why it is called American English, mate. We do all kinds of different stuff, like drive on the right side of the road and other crazy stunts. ;)

I prefer some of the american english spellings actually. Especially Aluminum.

Better than our Aluminimuminumiumumnunuium of whatever the **** it is.

Aluminium. Lol all it is is one extra 'i'.
And it fits better with the rest. E.g. Magnesium, Iridium, Cadmium, etc.

Basically you just make a perfectly good standard deluded and confused to cause people to be confused.

All English language is retarded anyhow and pretty stupid if you sit back and look at it. I can honestly say i wish my native language was something else besides English.

One problem with languages is that they have to be able to change and evolve to new concepts and changing cultures, which means that you have to tack on more and more to it, and it ends up being inconsistent a lot.

A bit like if we had to keep using a modified version of DOS today.
