El Camino and Ranchero would be a car to me, as would a Suburu Brat. All use a single piece body instead of a cab + bed. Problem solved.
Ford Escape is a smaller version of the Explorer. The Explorer is built on the Ranger chassis just as the Expedition is built on the F-150 chassis, so the Escape would still be considered a truck (albeit a very small one). The Explorer Sport-Trac shows the truck roots of that line of SUVs much better BTW.
I guess I always thought of a lorry as being a panel truck or small, single-bodied flatbed, basically the size between a pickup and an 18-wheeler.
