Ipod vs mp3/mp4 player..

Right well the vote currently is going to the ipods side but I'm not really convinced yet. I have like a week left to choose and decide and currently the prices for an ipod is really high. Are there other types of nano brands 2gb that are fairly priced. The Zen nano looks nice.

Ipods are bad bad and evil. They cost far to much and force you to use itunes with no linux support.

O RLY, Tyler? You can even buy iTMS songs in Linux if you please.

get an ipod.

i was kinda skeptical about getting one, and I instantly loved it after I opened the box and used it for 1 hour.

Since then I have dropped it twice from (average 4-5 feet). Nothing happened to it, works just fine.

But as a word of caution, as soon as you buy the ipod.. BUY A SILICONE COVER!!!!! Ipod nanos look nice and they scratch very easily. As soon as that thing leaves the box you better make sure its wrapped with a silicone cover.

Actually, Itunes is a really good program...easy to keep everything organized..

i just use itunes to rip and encode my CD's to my ipod.
and to preview music so that I know the name of music that is good so that I can steal it off limewire.

Hmm I had a look through the creative zen stuff and it all looked good but I can't find any at 2 ish gb under $80 or under 40 ish so pounds [my budget]
I'm considering an mp4 player. They look like an ipod nano. Any comments?
