I looked over at my pc and noticed the heatsink fan wasn't spinning. I type the sensors command (linux) and my cpu is at like 87 celsius (yikes!)...so I turn it off and open it up...a fecking cable had fallen in the path of the fan and stopped it.

So I fix it and...

Code:
coretemp-isa-0001
Adapter: ISA adapter
Core 1: +24°C (high = +85°C)

I think clear sides prolly saved my pc, heh.

Plexiglass. Not like it mattered, though, it saved me because I could see through it and notice the heatsink fan wasn't spinning. :D

Running Ubuntu Studio 7.10.

Your CPU would have throttled and eventually the computer would have shutdown if it got too hot. You would have been fine, just would have taken a little longer to figure out the problem.

Oddly enough, the heatsink fan on my e2180 almost never spins. The af7 is enough to keep it cool without having to spin up the fan. I guess it helps that its sitting right next to the patio door and its only like 20F outside.
