How do you make those things?

That link to dl the gimp doesn't take me anywhere. I get this page that shows some screenshots. Then I click the dl stable version page, and it takes me to some dl links. I clicked on the 2.6.2 version, THEN it takes me to a bunch of mirrors that I gotta go looking for the download!!! Where is the site that just dls it right when you reach it instead of having to go all over the place looking for the dumb program?!??!

You need to download the first two packages at the below URL for Windows:
http://gimp-win.sourceforge.net/stable.html

That goes to SourceForge mirrors. Once you select a mirror, your download will begin in a few seconds. After that, you shouldn't need to select mirrors anymore. It will still show the page, but try the last one you use automatically.

OK, I have downloaded and installed the GIMP.

So, how do I use it? The tutorials on GIMP.org are not exactly user-friendly.
