Homemade anti-cat peeing remedy?

We have 3 cats and 2 litterboxes. The other 2 cats aren't little weenies, but the 3rd is. He ****es each time several feet away from the litterboxes in a certain area. We're not sure what to do... we've tried spreading black pepper everywhere in that area but I woke up today to find some seasoned urine in the same puddle.

Anybody have any luck with certain things?

With my dog I had good luck with bitter apple spray (available at pet stores) as a training device for bad behavior.

Works great for cable chewing as well. My dog runs away from cables.

Do not know if it would work for a cat but worth looking into.

I think first you should make sure they don't have a urinal tract disease (I lost a cat to it).

No amount of spraying with water or anything or punishment will work. cats aren't wired like that. We had one that refused to use the box unless it was in a certain part of the house. It soon became an outdoor cat.
