HDTV question

If one had coaxial cable and wanted to upgrade to HD cable and I have a satellite dish, what do the techies change in regards to equipment when they come out to the house?

They will change the receiver box. and give you HDMI or Component Cables.

For my last cable service (MediaCom), nothing was changed. I had the standard DVR, and they just unlocked the HD channels. I had it setup via coaxial cable. Although, they did offer to "upgrade" me to the HD DVR.

You only get the HDMI cable if you're lucky. If you're not lucky, you get the new receiver, but have to go spend your money on a cable to get it to work.
