this a good camera?

i like nikons, but most newer nikons require you to use AF-S lenses, limiting your choices of lenses vs. other brans
only the D40's. Every other Nikon digital body works with pretty much everything made since the mid 1950's.


There are tons of reasons to buck up for an SLR over a compact, but occasionial ebaying and TF are not good reasons.
 
I currently am using an 3.1mp camera which is ok. Kodak something or other.
The Kodak doesn't read any AA batteries anymore so I can only use a power ooutlet to take pics.
 
I would highly reccomend the Pentax K10 dslr as a great cameria in the 500-700 dollar range. It has more features than the k100 which is what i have, and the 10mp sensor in it is great for large scale prints.

Pair it with the Sigma 28-300mm lens and decent flash, which together will run you another 350 or so and you'll have an great semi pro setup for around a grand.

And the best part with dslr's is that you dont need to buy anything at once.
