If only i knew how to operate linux, and didn't have to do anything else, like migrate hardware over, i'd try double booting with linux.

well a lot of the success of Playstation over N64 is due to people BEING able to copy games - you could buy the games for a frieken high price, or you could just copy it for the price of a CDR. And it's not much of a loss if/when you stop using it or it's damaged/destroyed
