The TV series (80's) was good, I got it on DVD. I love the book, Sadly I havent got the Radio series.
The film was so so I enjoyed it but it could have been better.
Now on topic is it me or did any one else jsut read the first 3 words in this threads title? I did an i felt a little uneasy.

I enjoyed the movie. But then again i had only vaguely heard of the series before watching it. Just think of the fish from american dad, the fish with the german brain.

i tried to read the book. its been awhile, so maybe i should try again. sometimes that works for me. i am a voracious reader, and i found the book affectd me the same as "lord of the rings"...just didn't like it, so never really concentrated on the story. i don't even remember if i finished it or not. i know i didn't finish LOTR.
