Have you ever thought about the funny cpu core names that AMD and INTEL make up. Personally i like these ones (mainly because they sound funny):
Little Foot - AMD K6 166-300mhz (sounds funny)
Chompers - AMD K6-2 400-550mhz (sounds funny)
Newcastle - AMD Athlon 64 939/754 (i live in a town called Newcastle)
Sledgehammer - AMD Athlon 64 FX, Opteron 940 (sounds kinda cool)

Klamath - Intel Pentium 2 233-300mhz (sounds kinda cool)
Prestonia - Intel Pentium 4 EE 3200mhz (just that little bit cooler than Prescott)

Is it just me, or does AMD make cooler names than Intel.

THUNDERBIRD!!!!!
(whistles "Thunderbirds Are Go" theme)

Every time I some one says AMD Thunderbird, I think of Brains from the (classic) Thunderbirds show.

I think intel throws a scabble board up in the air in order to get their names.

i just looked at that big toms hardware cpu chart and found the ones i liked. Stupid intel and thier Non creativeness.

i disagree. AMD have much better core names.

AMD:
Little Foot
Chompers
Spitfire
Thunderbird
Sledgehammer
Clawhammer
Newcastle

INTEL:
Covington
Klamath
Deschutes
Coppermine
Prestonia
Gallatin

Ive gathered some more cool cpu core names and the AMD one are still much cooler than the Intel ones.

thast not very cool. oh yea and thoroughbred wasnt cool either. But i still love AMD.
thoroughbred makes me think of horses, therefore housepower from cars.

Pretty much all of Intel's codenames after Pentium derive from place names (e.g. Tualatin and Klamath are actually rivers in Oregon), whereas AMD seems to have "powerful" names.

thats interesting trivia, lol, i still like little foot and chompers, lol, they sound like pokemon or something stupid like that (lol pokemon)
