The Food & Drink Thread

@Soul,

Do you know what the basic ingredients for flat bread is.

YT is confusing the hell out of me.

Some people just use Plain (All Purpose) Flour water and salt.

How do I make a good bread. Like a flat bread in the oven.

Gyes, what can you do with:

Plain Flour
Self Raising Flour
Milk
Salt
Water
Butter
Sugar
Spices

What can I do with those ingredients.

I've also got a chicken in the freezer what needs taken out and defrosted.

Can I make a Chicken Pie.

How do I make a Cake, or a pastry, or bread.

Does anyone know.

I have watched countless youtube videos and looked at google more times than I would want to pick my phone up in a day.

I Googled Plain Flour and in USA its called all purpose flour.

Google and youtube is confusing the hell out of me as their is so much information I don't know were to start.

Any ideas Guys .. :D

For the spice cake use self-rising and omit the baking powder/soda. For the buttermilk, measure 1 scant cup of milk then stir in 1 tablespoon of lemon juice or white vinegar.

Boys, guess who's cooking a loaf of Spicy Home Made White Flour Bread.

I'll post some pics when its cooked I promise.

I've needed the bread and now its just proving, once done. Things getting slung in the oven at 200 oC for 45 Minutes.

Spud, you need to crawl around on Taste of Home for a while. You will have to do the conversions from empirical to metric for most of the recipes but I guaranty that you will finds hundreds if not thousands of killer recipes to try.

@Trotter

The thing come out looking like a flat burnt brick. Gutted.

I'm gonna try now again since the ovens cooled down when I had my first attempt in.

I've got all the stuff its just figuring out what works best and the right temperatures so I will post some pics when This attempt is done. I'm gonna try again now.

Oven was too high and I didn't put the dough on the baking tray but left it in a bowl and when I transferred it it went flat.

I will post some pictures. Promise.

Also I forgot to sive the flour.
