essential programs

Well the clutter of my windows config got to be to much so i reformatted. My question is what are the essential programs u ppl have on your computer that u use almost daily?? I am trying to avoid clutter form multiple programs that do the same thing.So let everyone know what u use fro media player, anti virus, firewall, and any maintenance or monitoring programs.So if u use it and love it let us know what it is.
