double u or double me?

so i was thinking...about the alphabet.

there are a total of 28 sylabols in the alphabet.
all the letters but one is a one sylabol letter.
"w" has 3 sylabols. da-bull-u

what are the chances that whom ever creatd the alphabet got stumped when getting to this letter.

double the u's---> uu ---> w

I've heard some americans pronounce 'w' as 'dubyoo', led to some difficult spelling of names when my friends the Woods went to the US
'And how do you spell that?' 'da-bull-you-o-o-dee' 'what, u-u?', 'no, dabullu' '...yeah, u-u...' 'erm... dubyoo?' 'ohhhhh! dubyoo!'
Which happened with about three different people when renting cars and such.

In states like Texas, it is pronounced "dub-i-yah" (yah sounding like yup)

I've thought about the "double u (uu = w)" before lol. I guess I didn't really go in depth thinking about it, I just noticed "hey, it looks like 2 u's together" and went back on my way .
