disable a cell phone?

hey... rather than signing up for yet another forum, i was wondering if soeone here can help.
does any one knows if i can either:

- disable calls (so the other person will know it did not ring or get logged)

or

- disable calls temporaily from one person. i don't want the outgoing message they recieve to sound harsh, like i am blocking them or something.

it's just that i only have a cell phone and i work better during the day with out personal calls coming in.

i would turn it off, but i also use it as an alarm clock....has anyone done this?

perhaps...if you call your service provider, but it's a pain in the ass to call (say..verizon) everyday and tell them to unblock/block numbers

your best bet is to just get another alarm clock :\

i do this all the time, i get morons calling me up all day but i have to have the phone on because of something hjappens you know, i would just put it on vibrate, and have people you need have them on a different ring tone.
