I currently get my phone, internet, and digital cable through the same company. I get a 10M Down/1M Up connection. Seeing as I work for my ISP, I get a pretty wicked discount

EDIT: I should also mention that although fiber can obviously carry more bandwidth than Coax, current cable modem standards can handle 38M down/27M up. As well there is talks of future improvements that would let us see speeds around 160M down/120M up. For the most part the limiting factor is the ISP's network and how it can handle high speed connections.

Does anyone use their cell phone as a modem? my friend does it and he has verison, for 1x speed which translates to about 115k they only subtract the minutes you are on from your calling plan, which isn't that bad. If you are very mobile it might be worth doing. I have cingular and they are nazis about data , one time they charge me over $100 extra on the bill for 200k of data!

My Internet SUCKS LOADS. 3.5Mb Internet, were with TalkTalk (goes through BT Line's) Its about 19 Pounds for both Phone calls and Internet, not bad, but the connection sucks. It regularly disconnects and wont reconnect. BT Suck loads they wont upgrade the internet...Until NOW !.

Read this british people, Was announced today. Maybe its a small hope !.

Yeah, in 10 years the copper wires in America should be replaced with fiber optic wire. (I believe there's a bill that states this.)
