Barry Bonds is fairly well known for being a post season choke artist.
And his elbow armor is an unfair advantage? Thats the lamest excuse I've ever heard. Whats stopping anyone else from wearing something like that? Therefore it is not an advantage.
And to the person who mentioned consistency I suggest you look up Bonds career stats.
And I also agree with the asterisk, if it it proven that he did steroids.

At the moment, Bonds' apparatus enjoys "grandfathered" status. Similar devices are presently denied to average major leaguers, who must present evidence of injury before receiving an exemption.
(Just commenting. I'm not saying I agree that it's an advantage.)

You're not going to find me running around yelling "OMG asterisk, asterisk!" I just don't care about his home runs. His record means nothing to me.

Steroids or no Steroids Barry Bonds is one of the best baseball players of all time and will/should get into the HoF. Even if he did take steroids they would've only counted for about 100 of them still leaving him with HoF stats.

I give that record a max of 8 years before A-Rod breaks it. Unless he gets seriously injured.

Yea, A-Rod is only 32 years old. If healthy he could easily play another 10-12 years. As long as he hits 28-32 HR's every season for the rest of his career, it should be his.

Well, actually, if you believe the steroid allegations (And who wouldn't, the guy goes from being a skinny twit to a jacked up monster in one off season. He later attributed the change to "beginning my weight training early". Really. I didn't know lifting weights actually increases your head size and makes you wear shoes three whoel sizes bigger.), the post-steroid numbers would account for over 250 home runs. Fact is, without his use of HGH, he would not have broken Hank Aaron's home run record.

Of course, before his use of steroids, he was baseball's best around player, being an already excellent hitter as well as a Gold Glove outfielder. Now, he is a liability to his team, being almost useless in terms of fielding and baserunning. He is only effective in hitting home runs and that's it. He doesn't get on base and help his AWFUL team out very much. To those people who believe that it taints the all time HR record, relax. First, it won't stand that long. A-Rod is going to blow it away by hitting close to 900 HRs. Second, it only enhances Henry Aaron's legacy as the most consistent baseball player of all time. I don't believe he even hit 40 home runs in a single season. On the other hand, Barry Bonds can attribute his home run surge to the use of HGH, whether he took it as "flaxseed oil" or not. Come on, Barry. Give us a break. You had no reason to use steroids. You were an all time great before you used the juice and STOLE the record from Aaron.

Bond's career stats:

2005 40 14 42 5
2006 41 130 367 26
2007 42 103 277 24 through present day.
Note never more than 49 except for 01 when he hit 73. Fairly consistant really. But the change in his physical appearance can't be denied nor can the fact that he started really crushing the ball after age 34. And he wasn't getting pitched to very often from late 01 until present.
