why does everyone like limewire so much better?

limewire: top speed for me was about 150kb/s

BearShare: top speed is about my internet speed, 6mb/s (note, those files are well over 200mb each)

no it doesnt, it is "sponsored" meaning it has ads... maybe "whenusave" but just remove it and download "bsidle.dll" and put it in your folder

or you can maybe download the pro version....

I tend to like Limewire for music, and older versions of Bitspirit for torrents, pref. V2.7 or 2.8. It works well on my download PC, a Athlon 1200, with 512MB SD-RAM. Azureus just drags it to its knees, and I can't use the internet while downloading. And I've got 2MB ADSL.

In my opinion, eMule is the best!

100% FREE OF CRUD!
A bit slow at downloading...like a 700MB movie takes about 3-7 days.

BUT the great part is that it's totaly clean!

Good for: Movies, Large files.
OK for: Games
SLOW for: Music, Documents, anything small.

IF limewire is voted best then i guess i should give it a try.

3-7DAYS!?!?!?!?!?!?! WOW THAT IS SO SLOW!!!!!!!!!!!!

on azureus i get movies, almost always, done in less then a day. sometimes in 3 hours.

i use limewire for music too.

for torrents i use Azureus, and the highest i've gotten on it is 600kbps, which is fairly slow compared to bearshare. how much memory does bearshare use?

They use the same network, Gnutella.

That is slow. On my connection in my sig, i can download a DVD-R 4.7GB in one night...so about 8-10 hours.

when You say VDSL I presume you are saying Verizon DSL?

Cable is much faster then DSL.

I think verizon DLS varies from 700 KB
