Yeah, my first modem was a 14.4. Then we got high speed with a 28.8, then OH LORD a 56K!! Then we got really up to the current century and upgraded from Win3.1 to 95, then 98. And this was all in 1997.
 
I started with a 14.4, then went to 56k (after finding one lying around my house) and then to DSL (768/128) which I still have (Sadly).

Whats really crazy is that I used to actually GAME on that 14.4

I thought I was bad. I had a 1200 baud modem on my Commodore 64, and that was considered top of the line. I subscribed to a C64 online service called Quantum Link, and I frequented local BBS's. People today don't even know what a baud is. Much later, I thought a 14.4 k modem was unbelievable.
